Pantone Colour Of The Year - Mocha Mousse

Pantone Colour Of The Year - Mocha Mousse

At CheshirePaint we are lucky. Due to our bespoke nature, trends in the interior design world, what’s ‘in’ and what's ‘out’ do not carry much weight at all when it comes to influencing our artwork. Our projects are unique to that client and as a result it is only their taste we need to be dialled in to.

Nonetheless, we like to keep up and ensure we are always in a position to help and react to the changing and individual needs of our interior design partners.

The Pantone colour of the year for 2025 is named ‘Mocha Mousse’ and is a welcome step towards a calmer and more neutral palette from the last few years of much more colourful options. Last years ‘Peach Fuzz’ followed 2023s ‘Viva Magenta’ which was even brighter than 2022s ‘Very Peri’.

It is described more simply as a ‘soft warming brown’, Pantone explaining that “Pantone selects a colour each year that captures the global zeitgeist—the Color of the Year express a global mood and an attitude, reflecting collective desire in the form of a single, distinct hue”.

It’s likely to be a popular palette within the design industry this year and for good reason. People’s homes are their sanctuary and despite the fun and bold style brighter colours offer a room, at CheshirePaint we certainly favour the elevated elegance achieved from pairing various neutral pieces and textures in our artwork.

Brown as a colour, in all its shades, offers a warmer minimalist feel to a room and in artwork, offers warmth and connection to the space. Earthy and indulgent at the same time, brown-centric bespoke artwork pairs well with textured furniture, vibrant lighting and richer colour schemes of greens, golds and creams.

I think Pantone has it right this year. What do you predict to be the most popular colours of 2025?
