Why Choose Original Artwork?

Why Choose Original Artwork?

Here at CheshirePaint we believe in the power of original art. Passionate about our craft, prints and copies simply will not do. We have always created artwork that is hand-painted, unique and original.

What Does Original Mean?

Original artwork simply means it is the real deal. No printers and nothing digitally created or enhanced. It is a piece of art that has been created by hand and is signed and authenticated by the artist. In our case it has been created by Conor, artist and founder of CheshirePaint.

Why Is Original Better?

There are lots of benefits to opting for original artwork for your space. Firstly original artwork provides you with something unique as nobody else can have the exact piece that you own. We believe your artwork collection should be a representation of your own unique taste and the personality of your space. Not a carbon copy of artwork that anyone can have!

Is Original Artwork An Investment?

It can be! Some of the most famous artworks in the world have sold for hundreds of millions of pounds. The world record currently belongs to Leonardo Da Vinci's Salvator Mundi sold for $450.3 million in 2017.

An artists original work often increases in value as the artwork becomes more popular and harder to acquire. Unlike prints where the price is always to remain the same, an original painting signed by an artist can only increase in price when re-sold, especially if the artist has gone on to become more popular since you purchased their work!

With original work, you are also investing in a higher quality product that is able to deliver the wow factor you are really looking for. Colours and textures will always be more defined and striking in an original, making it the go to for the discerning designer!

Is Original Artwork Expensive?

Original artwork pricing varies greatly depending on the style and size of the artwork. At CheshirePaint, our original artwork starts from around £400 from our 'Bespoke To Order' ranges. Factors to consider here are the artists time and process as well as the highest quality materials in both canvas and paint used.

Often in commercial galleries originals carry a larger price tag, however a lot of this price is the galleries commission, often as high as 50%. When dealing with CheshirePaint these additional costs are not present allowing us to offer a much more competitive price point and deliver a superior product for your space.

Commissioning an original piece of artwork is a different process altogether. This is where you get to create something truly unique and harness the artistic talent and vision of an artist to create something new. Prices range greatly for this service but the sky is the limit. Here your imagination can run wild and the aim is to create for the owner something that is priceless. Learn more about our 'Commission Experience' here.
